Tara Pacific Expedition

David Hannan and associate Pete West filmed across the Pacific Ocean for The Tara Foundation. The Pacific is the world’s largest ocean, where over 40% of the world’s coral reefs are concentrated.

The expedition crossed the Pacific Ocean with a team of scientists to explore the diversity of coral reefs and gain a better understanding of their capacity to adapt to climate change. Tara traveled from the Panama Canal to the archipelago of Japan, New Zealand and China across 11 time zones visiting remote islands and reefs.

The imagery is used by the Foundation for scientific research, public education outreach activities.
