Network partners and long-time associates David Hannan, Pete West and their respective private companies are joining forces offering high-end image production capabilities to commercial clients with their combined track record of nearly a century of expertise in specialist marine cinematography.

"We are very excited about further extending forward, taking on bigger and more demanding projects, delivering the best pictures to a new wave of media creators - and engaging the brightest new emerging talent." said NUMA's Pete West

Dave is renowned for his startling close-up images of the spectacular mass coral spawn phenomenon as it was first discovered in the 1980’s and decades of covering coral reefs since, while Pete “Westie” has long been 'the go-to-guy' applying his industrial strength 'know-how' to blue-chip, hollywood and commercial projects filming on the reef and way beyond to the depths of the poles at the ends of the earth ...

After years of collaboration and standardising interchangeable filming workflows and dive equipment, Dave & Pete are now gearing up for new acquisition formats incl 4K+ and 3D while strengthening alliances with other network partners and associates to meet demand for licensing fresh factual content.

"Nobody is more focussed underwater using a large format camera than David Hannan. Our job is to get subjects looking good up in front of the lens!"

Working from operational bases on both Stradbroke Island and Port Douglas in Queensland Australia supporting underwater and field production work of all kinds, a specific focus is also ongoing lab work and macro studio filming.

"Informed by solid science and untold experience, this initiative combines specialty image origination with global marketing outreach to empower fresh new ways of presenting stories about our planet’s most bio-diverse (and imperiled) ecosystems to audiences around the world in all media ... backed and supported by one of the most significant independent footage archives of life on coral reefs anywhere ..." said Dave Hannan.

Several migrating Humpback whales were seen breaching over the distant horizon where the big blue sky meets a deep blue sea - while onlookers nodded.
